Our Story
AMOR — A Love Story Inspired by Barcelona
Amor Singapore
Every great story starts with a spark, a moment, a feeling, a place that changes everything. Ours began with a quiet romance, an architect’s love affair with the city of Barcelona. It was a love born not from a single visit but from countless wanderings through its curved streets, from hours spent marveling at how color lived so easily on its walls, how life itself seemed to unfold slowly, beautifully, around food, wine, and conversation. Barcelona taught us that architecture is more than buildings, it’s a philosophy. It’s about creating spaces where people feel something, where they connect, where they remember.
AMOR is the culmination of that love story. It’s a place where we celebrate the three pillars of Spanish life, the values that define not just how Spaniards eat, but how they live. First, there is a Love for Nature – a deep respect for the land, for the seasons, for ingredients that speak for themselves. We believe in letting nature do the talking, in honoring the integrity of what we cook. Second, there is a Love for Family – the sacred ritual of the family meal, the table as the grand stage of life where stories are shared, arguments are settled, and bonds are strengthened. And third, there is a Love for Sharing– the beautiful chaos of a table filled with tapas, the joy of passing plates, the understanding that food tastes better when it’s shared.
We’re not just a restaurant. We’re a philosophy, a way of life. We are a taste of Spain, right here at 107 Amoy Street, waiting to welcome you home.

Chef Wang
They say some people are born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Chef Wang, it seems, was born with a chef’s knife in his hand and a map of the world in his heart. His culinary story began in Hong Kong at the astonishing age of sixteen, a time when most of us are still mastering the art of not burning toast. While others were cramming for exams, he was diving headfirst into the demanding, electrifying world of professional kitchens. This early start forged a discipline and passion that would become the signature of his career, taking him on a whirlwind tour of the globe’s most revered culinary hotspots. From the glittering, avant-garde dining scene of Dubai to the hallowed halls of Michelin-starred temples in Barcelona, Chef Wang didn’t just learn recipes, he absorbed cultures, philosophies, and the very soul of Spanish, French, and Mediterranean cuisine.

Design & Architecture
Amor is a spatial and culinary love letter to Spain, quietly unfolding within Amoy Street. While some spaces begin with a brief, Amor began with a feeling. Inspired by years of wandering the streets of Barcelona during visits for the World Architecture Festival, the space is shaped by an architect’s quiet romance with the city. Its gentle curves instead of sharp corners, its effortless use of colour, its craft and everyday poetry, and the way life slows down around food, wine, and conversation.
The name of the restaurant is both title and philosophy. Amor speaks of love for Spanish food and culture, for craftsmanship and memories, and for the timeless ritual of gathering around a table.
Inspired by Catalan modernism and Gaudí’s playful spirit, the sculptural facade welcomes guests through stained glass reminiscent of Spanish cathedrals. Light filters through in jewel-like tones, setting a warm and evocative mood from the very first glance. Inside, organic forms, textured plaster walls, floral backdrops, and gentle curves guide guests into a Mediterranean reverie.
Curved arches and softened thresholds shape the interior of the shophouse, evoking the feeling of walking through a Spanish street at dusk. Layered spaces with distinct character unfold sequentially along the shophouse, creating rhythm, reflection, and intimacy throughout. An internal artistic courtyard introduces greenery and vibrance, offering moments of pause and calm. The trencadís mosaic bar, visually linked to the facade, glows in sea blues and soft whites beneath wrought iron racks, inviting lingering evenings and unhurried conversations.
Materials are honest and tactile, with brick, plaster, timber, iron, glazed tiles, stained glass, and mosaic coming together to celebrate artisanal craftsmanship and handcrafted texture. The palette draws from the Catalan sunset, washed in orange terracotta, twilight sea blue, ambered ochre, mustard tones, and a soft textured backdrop. At the heart of the space, a decorative metal olive tree anchors the restaurant, symbolising heritage, patience, and communal gathering. Shimmering mosaics reappear near the kitchen as a final echo of the sea, bringing the design story full circle.
The name of the restaurant is both title and philosophy. Amor speaks of love for Spanish food and culture, for craftsmanship and memories, and for the timeless ritual of gathering around a table.
