Amor Cooks Food
As A Culinary Art
Some say love is a grand, dramatic affair-fireworks, sweeping orchestras, declarations shouted from rooftops. We believe it’s found in the simpler, quieter moments: the gentle clinking of glasses as friends toast to nothing in particular, the warmth of a shared meal that lingers long after the plates are cleared, the echo of laughter bouncing off beautiful walls. At AMOR, we don’t just serve food, we serve moments. We’ve bottled the soul of Barcelona, captured the heart of the Mediterranean, and poured it all into a little shophouse tucked away in the heart of Singapore’s historic Amoy Street.
Step into AMOR, and you’re stepping into a waking dream, a vision of a Spanish street at dusk, where the light is golden, the air is warm, and time moves at its own pace. Inspired by the playful spirit of Catalan modernism and the genius of Gaudí, our restaurant is a love letter to design, to the idea that beauty doesn’t have to be perfect to be profound. Curved arches and softened thresholds guide you through a series of intimate spaces, each with its own character, its own story to tell. There are no harsh lines here, no cold corners, just a gentle flow that invites you to wander, to discover, to settle into whichever space calls to you.
Split Personality?
YES
The materials are honest and tactile, chosen for their warmth and their imperfections. Brick, plaster, timber, and iron come together in a palette that celebrates the beauty of things that age gracefully, that tell stories through their textures. The color palette is a Catalan sunsetwashed in orange terracotta that glows like embers, twilight sea blue that evokes the Mediterranean at dusk, and ambered ochre that feels like sunlight trapped in stone. These aren’t just colors, they’re emotions, memories, moments captured and translated into a space.
At the heart of it all stands a decorative metal olive tree, its branches reaching upward, a symbol of heritage, patience, and the slow, steady growth of something beautiful. The olive tree is a reminder that the best things in life take time. And then there’s our trencadís mosaic bar, a shimmering echo of the sea, where broken tiles come together to create something whole, something stunning. It’s a nod to Gaudí’s belief that beauty can be found in fragments, in the unexpected, in the playful collision of color and form.
This is a space designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. To be experienced. To be remembered.
